Thinking of booking a short trip to relax and melt your stress away?

A quick weekend trip is the perfect way to end the week and start a new one rejuvenated.

Here are some places you can consider for a fun but relaxing weekend trip.

Krabi, Thailand

Located in South Thailand, Krabi is just a two-hour flight away. Depending on when you book your ticket, flights during non-peak periods can be as low as $100.

Similar to Phuket, Krabi has the benefit of being less crowded and expensive than the former.

There are plenty of restaurants offering various cuisines and even delicious freshly made crepes that are found at almost every corner of the main Ao Nang district.

For much-needed relaxation, Krabi has countless spa parlours along the main shopping district. You can even plan to go for a massage at the end of the day, as most of the parlours are open until midnight.

Go for a day trip to the beautiful Phi Phi Islands. There, you can snorkel in the clear blue waters or simply enjoy the view of the staggering cliffs.

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Not been to Cambodia? Then Siem Reap is the best place to start.

Approximately a two-hour flight from Singapore, the country is rich in culture and adventures.

A must-visit is the Angkor Wat temples. Perfect for a photography tour, the ancient temples are some of the world’s greatest monuments. There is quite a large area to cover so should you need to, hire a bicycle to tour around at your own pace.

Not just known for its temples, Siem Reap has exciting activities, like going on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) tour by the peaceful countryside. You may come across monkeys, water buffaloes, rice paddy fields and old stilted houses.

Bangkok, Thailand

A favourite shopping haunt among Singaporeans, Bangkok is a great place to shop and eat the weekend away.

Sign up for any of their famous cooking classes and learn how to whip up authentic Thai food from professionals. Check for available courses at Silom Thai Cooking School or Bangkok Bai Pai Cooking School.

Feel like shopping? Then head to popular shopping places like Chatuchak Market or Pratunam, where you can get clothes, accessories and souvenirs at cheap prices.

Apart from shopping and food, Bangkok is where you can have fun with some adventurous activities. Have a go-kart race with your friends at Easy Kart, the largest indoor go-kart track in Bangkok, or display your wakeboarding skills at Taco Lake.
